Todd LesterParticipant
We get a lot of these in Texas. The dash is covered in real leather which of course shrinks when heated. I tried to glue one down and wished I had never touched it. The customer brought it back two times for me to try and make it better but once the material shrinks it just won’t fit any more. And of course the windshield has to come out each time. I like Tammy’s plan of having the dash removed and covered with vinyl, which is what should have been used in the first place. If I can’t talk my way out of dealing with it next time then I will try to recover it and let you know how it goes.
Todd LesterParticipantI was contacted by a company called Coast-to-Coast Leather & Vinyl, 800/354-4401. They told me they carry hard to find auto colors but I don’t currently do cars so never followed up. They may carry fabrics also.
Todd LesterParticipantI know this is an older post but I just got back into upholstery and would be interested in advanced techniques also.
I have an opportunity to do work for a Jason’s Deli if I can match the vinyl. It is dark red, marbled. Does anyone have a supplier for this? The supplier I use in Texas only has basic, one color bolts available.
Thanks,
Todd LesterTodd LesterParticipantI haven’t gotten a “yes” from a Logan’s yet but a Zoe’s Kitchen needs some booths recovered. Does anyone work that restaurant chain? I’m having trouble finding the vinyl. They only have 8 booths but 6 of them need recovering.
Todd LesterParticipantAwesome. I’ll contact the managers in and near my area and try to get some work up and going. I’ll let you guys know how it turns out.
Todd LesterParticipantI offered upholstery years ago but discontinued when my son was born. The seamstress (my wife) was promoted to mother and moved on to a higher calling. I’m prepared to get back into it to service the Logan’s restaurants in my area. What are you guys getting these days for 4/6/8 foot booths at Logan’s?
