I like Durafill for leather refinishing and plastic repair edge/pit smoothing, as it’s thicker than LCF, and more sandable than XR-10. It dries almost clear, so airbrushing is minimized. I’ll still keep LCF (I’m a big fan), but Durafill may be replacing the XR-10 in my kit.

Specific recent use: Durafill feathered edges of catalyst where sticky dash prohibited sanding. (2008 Subaru Legacy)

Great information, here! I’ve been asked that before, but just referred them to a tent maker.

“SRS Left Front Airbag Malfunction” Message displayed on Mercedes C300 after reinstalling seat. Everything plugged back in correctly. No solution yet. Looks like my customer will have to take it to a dealer to reset the computer with their diagnostic tool.

Maybe next time I’ll try unplugging the battery altogether when removing and replacing a seat that contains airbags. Trouble is sometimes the unit must be driven across the lot after removing the seat. (It’s pretty funny to imagine a service advisor trying to drive a car on one knee without a driver’s seat.)

Brian, Mitchell, Steve, Teresa, Buster, thank you for your responses! I had my doubts that I would get feedback, but you great people proved me wrong. I have picked up a Wagner wallpaper steamer, and it has been helpful so far. I’d like to find some fine point nozzles. just removing the rectangle helped marginally for spot treatment, yielded some dripping issues when aimed downward. The 10×6 inch attachment was also good when placed on top of a clean rag. I may line the edge with long-cut catheter-type tubing, in order to avoid leaving an indentation especially in the seat fabric. I’m still interested in a HWE, and I believe is worth it, but until I’ve budgeted for one, I picked up some light colored aerosols for cover-up, for now.

    Have a great afternoon!
