Dear Tom:

It has now been one year since I started my Dr. Vinyl franchise in the Maryland-Delaware region, and I still find it hard to believe how successful it has been. So far, everything you have told me, Tom, has turned out to be true.

I gave up a good job as a clinical laboratory scientist with benefits and retirement plan, to pursue a business in Dr. Vinyl. My first year in business, I doubled my annual salary and started my own retirement plan. I have added a full-time contractor and have plans to add another soon.

The three things that convinced me to purchase a franchise were:

1. Dr. Vinyl was rated within the top 50 best franchises to own and operate in the USA by Newsweek magazine.

2. I watched Bill Fowler (North Delaware franchisee) make a vinyl repair at a car dealership. I could not tell that there had been a tear in the vinyl, afterwards.

3. I talked to Tom Buckley, who seemed more concerned about my ability to succeed as a franchisee, than about asking for a check.

In other words, I don't think Dr. Vinyl will take on just anyone. To me this was important; it told me that these people at Dr. Vinyl were building a business with vision and ethics. It is not a grab-your-money-and-run deal.

I would like to thank you (Tom) and the rest of the staff at Dr. Vinyl for all of your help over the past year in making my business truly successful. I may have just a one-person business, but in the background, I have a staff of business consultants to answer any of my questions. with everything I stated above, I found that I cannot fail.
